RILEY  HOSPITAL  FOR  CHILDREN
http://iuhealth.org/riley
The GFWC IFC connection to Riley Hospital for Children can be traced back to 1927.  It was at the State Convention that over $20,000 was raised for Riley's building fund.  When completed a large section of Ward C was named "Indiana Federation of Clubs".

The hospital's Parent Care Unit was an ongoing favorite project of the Junior membership.  At the 1996 IFC Convention Riley Hospital for Children was adopted as a permanent project by the convention body.  At the GFWC IFC Convention during the even numbered years a check/and gifts are presented to a Riley representative for use throughout the hospital since the Parent Care Unit is now in every area of the hospital.

Riley Smiles Bags for 2018
GFWC IFC
2016-2018 Riley Project
Our project for Riley's children this term will be "Riley Bags" or "Smiley Bags".   Club members will be working to fill 1000 bags to present at the 2018 IFC Convention to a Riley representative.  The bags will provide activities for the young patients while on the road to recovery.

Riley Bags can be filled with many different items to be enjoyed.  Items might include (but certainly not limited to):  reading books, puzzle - books of all kinds, water color sets and paper, coloring books and crayons, colored pencils, washable markers, craft aprons, pencils, pens, flash drives, videos, small games, glue, glue sticks, colored paper, feathers and felt, blunt scissors, stencils, funny ears or noses, yarn, ribbon, logos or anything else you run across that seems appropriate for your collection. (Consider including a get well card in the bag)

We have written and received a grant for 1000 bags through the Walgreens Foundation.  Bags will be waiting for your items at the IFC Convention in Indianapolis on Friday, April 13, 2018.  Each club will be supplied one bag prior to the IFC Convention as a sample to see what fits in a bag and still provides fun and welcomed distractions from the child's hospital life.

Age ranges will be: ( 1-5)  (6-10)  (11-14)  (15+)

(Please keep ages separated to make sorting easier)
Keep in mind---we are asking for 2.5 bags for each membership you may have.
